I scoured the interwebs so I could make the most inclusive list of wedding rental homes in Washington State, so this list has rental properties from a bunch of different sites. So for all intents-and-purposes, when I say ‘Airbnb,’ I mean ‘rental property’…it just sounds better?? Whether you’re looking for a lakefront property for your day or a wedding venue with a mountain-view, there’s something for everyone on this list!

Can we have a wedding in an Airbnb?

Don’t be shady – it’s really important to be up-front with the host before booking the Airbnb. If you plan on having your elopement and reception at the property, reach out to the host to confirm that it’s okay. They may charge an additional fee, or just say ‘no.’ On the other hand, even if the Airbnb listing shows that the property doesn’t allow parties/gatherings, it’s worth sending them a quick note explaining your small elopement plans and asking if you’d be allowed to rent their space. Sometimes they say no, but other times they make an exception 🎉

What to ask before booking an Airbnb for your wedding

Accessibility – Is a 4×4 vehicle needed to get to the property? Do you have guests that can’t do stairs?

Lighting – If you want some photos inside, choosing a house that has some windows is helpful for getting good light.

The outdoor space – Buuut you probably don’t want to spend all your time inside, so check for an outdoor space as well. Is it shared, or private?

Other amenities – want a hot tub? Deck? Giant kitchen?

How to have an Airbnb wedding

There are a lot of different ways couples decide to have their Airbnb elopement. This is going to look different for every couple because it depends on a lot of different factors. Are you going to have guests? Are you having the ceremony and/or reception on the property? Are you going out to a restaurant, catering in, or grilling burgers?
