This Lake Powell Elopement was what dreams are made of. I grew up going house boating on Lake Powell with family friends, so being able to explore the area on 4 wheels in the winter was an awesome change. If you’re wanting an adventurous, unique desert elopement – look no further than Lake Powell!
The closest town to Lake Powell is Page, AZ. There’s a small airport in town, but your best bet is flying into Las Vegas or Phoenix and then driving the remaining ~4 hours away.
There are a lot of Airbnb and hotel options in Page, so finding a place to stay is pretty easy. For the best hotel views, I recommend Lake Powell Resort. But if you want the fuuullll Lake Powell experience, renting a house boat is THE way to go. A house boat allows you to be secluded and surrounded by nothing by red rocks and water – it seriously doesn’t get any better than that.
Lake Powell is a great place to elope year-round. It’s a tourist area, which means that it’s crowded in the summer and much quieter in the winter. IMO, a winter Lake Powell elopement is the way to go (yaaay not worrying about sweating the entire day)! Just remember that, even though it’s in the desert, but that doesn’t mean it’s warm all year round – bring some layers and be prepared for some chilly nights!
If you’re ready to elope in Lake Powell (woohooooo!) but don’t know where to begin – I’m your gal! My elopement packages include alllll the things to help make your dream elopement a reality! Things like:I’ll help you pick the perfect spot for your ceremony, tips for rentals (like a Jeep, jetski or houseboat) create a detailed timeline for the day (hint: it’s a pretty chill day that involves a picnic and jeeping to a remote spot and maybe even a dip in the lake if ya want)
