For the most pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds, spring and fall are the best times to elope to Lake Como.

During the winter, the temperatures can be chilly. With that said, most days during the winter are sunny and beautiful with only an average of 5 rainy days each month.

In the summer, Lake Como’s climate is nice and warm. However, there are more rainy days which is awesome for the gorgeous flowers that bloom during the summer. Warm summer months are also peak tourist season, so be sure to plan ahead and expect prices to be on the higher end.

Bellagio

Famous for its gorgeous villas that overlook the water, Bellagio is a top Italy elopement destination. You can find villas, gardens, charming alleys, and beaches – all ideal photo and elopement backdrops.

A popular spot to say ‘I do’ in Bellagio is the Town Hall where you can have a quick civil wedding before heading off for gorgeous photos. Many villas also allow you to have a civil wedding. Lido di Bellagio is perfect for those dreaming of a seaside wedding.

Tremezzo

Just across from Bellagio along the edge of Lake Como, Tremezzo is a small, charming historic area. If you’re looking for a culturally rich, laid-back spot that offers scenic hikes (or strolls), you’ll love Tremezzo!

Tremezzo is most known for Villa Carlotta, a large, romantic villa that features a massive garden with amazing blooms. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo also offers a variety of glamorous spaces to say your vows from elegant indoor rooms to romantic spots under the stars and by the lake.

Cernobbio

This small town situated by Lake Como is a village known for its graceful past and various attractions ideal for events like an elopement. It boasts narrow streets with adorable courtyards, countless lakeside spots, and some of the most breathtaking villas.

Cernobbio is home to a couple of famous villas perfect for getting married. Villa Erba is a 19th-century, world-renown villa that offers unparalleled Lake Como views. Villa Pizzo is a romantic, luxurious villa from the 15th century. 

Lenno

Located near the center of Lake Como is the small village of Lenno. It’s surrounded by mountains and lake scenery and offers a peaceful atmosphere.

If you’re looking to get married amongst flowers and trees, a Villa del Balbianello wedding is perfect for you. This location was even the backdrop for movies James Bond and Star Wars, so that’s pretty cool!

Wedding planning can be a lot of work. But, these tips can make the process easier and, most importantly, enjoyable!
